- Do I need any prior music theory knowledge?
No. Some courses teach music theory specifically for electronic music producers but prior knowledge is not necessary. If you have prior knowledge-great!
- What genres does this cover?
The principles taught are genre-agnostic. Students make everything from house and techno to dubstep, future bass, trap, drum & bass, experimental, ambient, and more. The focus is on universal production fundamentals that work across all electronic music styles.
- How much time do I need to commit?

- What DAW do I need?
Producer Dojo teaches not only universal production concepts that work in any DAW, but also philosophy, music habit creation, and in-depth artistic development not anchored in any specific DAW. While Dylan primarily uses Ableton Live, students successfully use FL Studio, Logic Pro, Bitwig, Cubase, Reaper, and others.
- What equipment do I need?
Nothing crazy. A computer, a DAW, internet connection, headphones or monitors, basic MIDI controller (optional if you know to use your QWERTY keyboard). A sidearm controller like a Midi Fighter Twister will unlock new possibilities for you. Highly recommended.
- What computer specs do I need?
If your computer can run your DAW comfortably, you're good to go. The courses are video-based and don't require powerful hardware. The tools and templates are optimized to work on most modern systems.
